Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Mercury Rev’s new album to that on ‘All Is Dream’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Since completing 2001’s ‘The dark is rising’, Mercury Rev fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. ‘All Is Dream’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Music in Tides of the moon is excellent as in all tracks of All Is Dream. Mercury Rev allows each song to breathe and flourish. Lincoln’s eyes gives good insight into the truths. Nite and fog is the first taste of the new album. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. I came to like A drop in time. You’re my queen is probably the highlight of the album. Spiders and flies which is my favorite is a truly Mercury Rev sounding song. Hercules one of the best in my collection.
