This disc has all of the essential Lycia classics. It’s natural for Lycia to take a stab at ‘Broken Days’ considering her long-professed love for UB40. Lycia’s debut, ‘Tripping Back Into The Broken’, does not fit easily into one genre. Lycia “Tripping Back Into The Broken” is an amazing album.
It’s Okay To Be Small - Okay, I just talked about depth. The Last Winter is the albums biggest surprise. First time I heard Asleep In The River was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Fades Down Far stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Give Up The Ghost I just LOVE this mix! It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Vacant Winter Day, which shows, blatantly, how much Lycia has evolved as a singer. Gray December Desert Day good vocals. Voice and instruments in Blue Heron complement each other. Halfway Between Here And There is the funkiest number on the album. Cat & Dog is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Pale Blue Prevails is a bit different from Lycia stereotypical stuff.
