It has been eleven years Knives Out’ last studio CD, “Heartburn [EP]” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Knives Out’s debut, ‘Heartburn [EP]’, does not fit easily into one genre. Lead single “Horseshoes And Handgrenades” and “Pay It Up” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Heartburn [EP].
Pay It Up can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Knives Out is all about. Knives Out allows each song to breathe and flourish. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Noose For A Necktie is the first taste of the new album. I think Pins n’ Needles is the best song Knives Out has ever done.
