This is the first studio album from Klute since bad diagnosis in 2003. While no new Klute album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2003 tour in Asia. two years ago, Klute briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Ambient Hell”. Non Always Forever and Ambient Hell is really good.
Ambient Hell gives taste of what makes Klute special as a musician. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Traffico - To me, this is the best song on the Lie,cheat and Steal. Problem Reaction which is my favorite is a truly Klute sounding song. Tacky is a fine track on any terms. Best song on the album, love it. The song Candy Ass ending is my favorite… so catchy! Part of Me is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Ether hits the heart. Oshima is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. This song may be the most meaningful. Machines Do the Work is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Tubby is a very catchy tune. Ultralo is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Lie,cheat and Steal have ended. Klute is hitting on all cylinders in Music for Doubles. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Lie,cheat and Steal. 2 Lives (6:12) a good melody. Klute rocks harder than ever with Crucial. Overchoice - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Artificial Sense still maintains something of a specific flourish. Within the first few notes of Wishing 4 Better it’s perfectly clear that Klute is living this song.
