On the Portugal charts, superstar Kheops’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. There were many famous songs of Kheops available. Lead single “Long Ago” and “Sadness & Honour” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. One of Kheops’s best albums yet.
Overall a nice softer song. Pro Homine - For me, this is the best of the album. What sets So Far The Way apart is Kheops’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. One listen to the sheer beauty of Song For Freedom was all I needed. In Gypsy Power full palet of sound is used by Kheops to accentuate the presentation. Walking In The Mountain is one of my favorite songs by Kheops. No Kheops song has come close to capturing my attention as Balkans did. After The War is a song to enjoy for years to come. In Liberty Wind the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Tribute To The Innocent is a strong cut, one of many. Companions Route - arguably the best track on Balkans album. Armenian Song I just LOVE this mix! Voice and instruments in Mystic Land complement each other.
