Filmworks 11: Under the Wing carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Mila Sparrow has compared writing for John Zorn’s new album to that on ‘Filmworks 11: Under the Wing’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by John Zorn. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Some call Ba’adinot from Filmworks 11: Under the Wing as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Shabbos Noir is one of these floating songs. I was truly moved when I heard Interlude. Yesoma - I just love it. Shabbos Noir motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Ba’adinot is a excellent, simple song by John Zorn at the top of his game. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Kavana is a very catchy tune. The Trap is simply marvelous. Yesoma is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Darkly is a great opener for Filmworks 11: Under the Wing. Ba’adinot gives taste of what makes John Zorn special as a musician. I now have Drama as one of my personal favorites. Chazal very upbeat. Excellent vocals and musical performances. B’rachos is another favourite of mine. Shabbos Noir - This is a very lively song. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Filmworks 11: Under the Wing. Yesoma is just simply stunning.
