After seeing One, I had to have a good John Zorn cd. On Chimeras album, John Zorn have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by John Zorn. Smart music for smart people.
Two is the most memorable and exquisite. Music and lyrics of Three creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Opening track Four shows the best of John Zorn. This song may be the most meaningful. The sound in Six is really warm and John Zorn’s signature voice is still very much present. John Zorn offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Nine is the album’s biggest hit, I think. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Interlude is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Eleven hits the heart. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing.
