I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Very Best of Jean-Luc Ponty’ really is amazing. On The Very Best of Jean-Luc Ponty album, Jean-Luc Ponty have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Jean-Luc Ponty had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This album is in perfect progression from Jean-Luc Ponty!
First time I heard No Strings Attached (Live) was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.I can’t stop humming along Cosmic Messenger. Mirage is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Enigmatic Ocean, Part III is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Best song on the album, love it. You have to get essence of the Infinite Pursuit’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Although A Taste For Passion is very melodic it is far from sad. Jean-Luc Ponty has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Aurora, Part II is a medium tempo tune. No Jean-Luc Ponty song has come close to capturing my attention as I Only Feel Good With You did. Egocentric Molecules is the funkiest number on the album. Aurora is worth the money.
