After debuting at No. 1 last week, Felt’s album Stains on a Decade falls to No. 2 with 244,000, a sales slide of 74%. It’s natural for Felt to take a stab at ‘Something Sends Me to Sleep’ considering her long-professed love for Depeche Mode. On Stains on a Decade album, Felt have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Felt is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Still going through Stains on a Decade and coming to appreciate Trails of Colour Dissolve more and more with every listen. Penelope Tree is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Sunlight Bathed the Golden Glow is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. After about the third Fortune listen through, I began to believe this song is Felt’s essence. Album opener Dismantled King Is Off the Throne is a bright, upbeat ditty. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. You have to get essence of the Ballad of the Band’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. So much energy, so exciting a sound.I Will Die with My Head in Flames is really a nice song to relax and listen too. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Sandman’s on the Rise Again. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Stains on a Decade. First time I heard There’s No Such Thing as Victory was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Be Still was the first single release from the album Stains on a Decade. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit.
