Enrique Morente’s debut, ‘Homenaje Flamenco a Miguel Hernandez’, does not fit easily into one genre. Bun B. Hear has compared writing for Enrique Morente’s new album to that on ‘Homenaje Flamenco a Miguel Hernandez’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Since completing 2001’s ‘Con La Raiz Del Querer’, Enrique Morente fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Enrique Morente ever.
Dios Te Va A Mandar Un Castigo is pretty funky and mellow. El Carro De Mi Fortuna is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Homenaje Flamenco a Miguel Hernandez have ended. El Nino Yuntero is a strong cut, one of many. In Nanas De La Cebolla Enrique Morente spins a tale you want to hear to the end. I love the melodic melody of Sentado Sobre Los Muertos and to this day it makes me feel good. Un Veneno ‘Pa’ Que Yo Muera is probably the highlight of the album.
