Now signed to Deride’s Blue Note Records, the title track from second album “First Round Knockout” leads Deride’s back-to-school campaign. There is no doubt that Deride has talent. It has been seven years Deride’ last studio CD, “First Round Knockout” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. First Round Knockout is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
This track is full of harmonies and gets First Round Knockout off to a relaxing start. Some call No Cross Is Mine from First Round Knockout as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Words Of Fools is just simply stunning. Deride has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Clear Reflection is my favorite song on First Round Knockout. Crusade Of Selfdestruction is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. In Live While You’re Alive Deride spins a tale you want to hear to the end. One listen to the sheer beauty of The Hate Within was all I needed. Bonus Track is a romantic if not formulaic ditty.
