This disc has all of the essential Deeds Of Flesh classics. Deeds Of Flesh’s debut, ‘Reduced To Ashes’, does not fit easily into one genre. Lead single “Reduced To Ashes” and “Infested Beneath The Earth” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Reduced To Ashes is not something you should pass up.
After about the third Infested Beneath The Earth listen through, I began to believe this song is Deeds Of Flesh’s essence. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Empyrean is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Human Trophies is a great opener for Reduced To Ashes. Banished is one of the more up-tempo songs on Reduced To Ashes. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. The Endurance is simple, dignified and effective, Deeds Of Flesh refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more.
