Ivan Grach has compared writing for Caprice’s new album to that on ‘Elvenmusic I’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Lead single “The Realm Of Faerie” and “Princess Mee” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Since Caprice last CD (Elvenmusic I) on Mute Records back in 2001, I have felt a massive void in my life. I Love Elvenmusic I from start to finish!
Princess Mee is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. The opening track Song Of The Wind is very much like you would expect from other albums. This song may be the most meaningful. The Last Dance is just simply stunning. Lullaby is the more seemingly obscure song on Elvenmusic I that bear up best to repeated listening. Only one song from Elvenmusic I named The Mewlips really got me. Once you hear Of Amroth And Nimrodel, you will listen to it over and over. The Road Goes Ever On And On is probably the highlight of the album. Merrymaking Of The Forest Elves is astounding work of Caprice. Some call Of True Thomas And Fairy Queen from Elvenmusic I as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Farewell great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.
