Since completing 2003’s ‘Danza Inca’, Bolivia Manta fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. ‘Tinkuna’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is one of the best Cd’s Bolivia Manta has dropped to date. This is what good Ethnic should be.
Golpes De La Vida is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Suri Sikuris is another favourite of mine. Carnaval Huamanguino is such a cool and optimistic song that things can get just better. In El Alizal full palet of sound is used by Bolivia Manta to accentuate the presentation. The sound of Penas is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Recuerdos De Chuma makes a person feel amazing. Bolivia Manta must have run out of lyrics on the next track Destino Fatal. Rioabajeca is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Bolivia Manta emotions are reflected through El Casamiento De Los Runas. Quilimayo is simple, dignified and effective, Bolivia Manta refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Llamero - This is a very lively song. Bolivia Manta breathes new life into the music in Bolivia Manta - Juanatia. Ch’ecupe Plaza Chapi - A nice song. Cerro Viscachani is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Ilumantio is a very catchy tune.
