This is one of the best Cd’s Bert Jansch has dropped to date. After seeing Carnival, I had to have a good Bert Jansch cd. There is so much to love about Bert Jansch, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Overall, I would highly recommend Toy Balloon CD.
She Moved Through The Fair is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. All I Got is simply excellent. Charming song, great melody. Toy Balloon (For Little Anna-Rebecca) - arguably the best track on Toy Balloon album. No Bert Jansch song has come close to capturing my attention as Waitin & Wonderin did. Hey Doc is astounding. Sweet Talking Lady was the first single release from the album Toy Balloon. After few listenings I started to like Paper Houses more and more. Born And Bred In Old Ireland very upbeat. How It All Came Down has a fun tempo. When I listen to Just A Simple Soul in my car when traffic ain’t going so good.
