Birthday Blues carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Bert Jansch’s album Birthday Blues falls to No. 2 with 544,000, a sales slide of 89%. one years ago, Bert Jansch briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Bright New Year”. Birthday Blues constantly brilliant.
Album opener Bright New Year is a bright, upbeat ditty. Tree Song is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Poison is a very catchy tune. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Miss Heather Rosemary Sewell is my favorite song on Birthday Blues. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Get Birthday Blues and turn on Woman Like You if you are going to sip your wine late at night. I Am Lonely is the album’s biggest hit, I think. A unique and uplifting song. Birthday Blues is a good listen every once in a while. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Blues have really caught my ear and imagination.
